Collaboration between Gefken Cases and Sentinel

Sentinel. Strong on the outside, customized on the inside.

Most people know them. The waterproof plastic cases that photographers often use. They are also often used in military operation, by emergency services en route and for industrial applications. They are indestructible suitcases with extremely high demands. The most common requirement is that they must be IP67 waterproof, for military applications additional specifications are required. Sentinel’s waterproof plastic cases meet all these specifications and there is also a lifetime warranty on these cases.

Gefken has been Sentinel’s exclusive Master Distributor Europe since 2016. This means Gefken is a dealer of Sentinel and is also building a European dealer network for these waterproof plastic cases. Up until 2015, the Gefken portfolio lacked a good waterproof plastic case, which is why we started looking for a case that met our wishes. It had to be a case that could compete with the best in the industry, meet at least the same (military) specifications and, if possible, be lighter in weight and be user-friendly and look. Sentinel’s cases have all of this. That while the quality is absolutely comparable to other well-known brands of waterproof plastic cases. It is therefore not surprising that Sentinel in the United States and Canada has been growing enormously for years. With a network of Sentinel dealers within Europe, Gefken currently serves almost all of Europe and here too the market share has been growing steadily since 2016.

Whereas previously in the market for waterproof plastic cases, users often drew a parallel between the weight of the case and its quality (the heavier, the better), it is now also recognized that this does not have to be the case. The fact that the Sentinel cases meet all the standards that one would expect from such a case and that it is also lighter than many other alternatives means that the users can optimally protect their products, but have the advantages of a lighter packaging that can save money and is more user-friendly
